| Educational Qualification | Secondary School Examination (SSE)/10th standard pass certificate, with passing marks in Mathematics and English, from a Board recognized by the Government of India/State Governments/Union Territories. Candidates with equivalent qualification from any other board are not eligible. |
| Local Language | Must have studied the local language (as prescribed post-wise for each Circle in Annexure-III of the notification) at least up to 10th standard from a recognized board. Special provisions apply for Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Sikkim, and Nagaland. |
