Government Jobs by State & Territory
State-wise recruitment index across State PSCs, Police Recruitment Boards, and Municipal Corporations
State government recruitments in India are conducted by State Public Service Commissions (e.g. UPPSC, BPSC, RPSC, MPPSC, HPSC) and Subordinate Staff Selection Boards (e.g. UPSSSC, RSMSSB, HSSC, BSSC). Most state vacancies require specific state domicile status for reservation benefits and regional language literacy.
State Recruitment Reservation & Domicile Guidelines
Statutory caste reservation benefits (OBC, SC, ST, EWS) in state government recruitments are strictly restricted to bonafide residents holding an authorized domicile / residence certificate of that specific state. Candidates from other states apply under the Unreserved (General) category.
Several state recruitment boards mandate passing the official state language subject (e.g. Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu) at the 10th standard matriculation level as an essential eligibility condition.
Central vs State Vacancies
Central Govt (All-India): Vacancies under Ministries, Defence, Railways, and Central PSUs are open to all Indian citizens with pan-India posting liability and central OBC/SC/ST certificate formats.
State Govt: Posts under State Secretariats, Police, District Courts, and Municipal Councils are posted within the respective state territory.
